How recommendations, commercial visibility and corrections work

Sifnos App tries to stay useful by keeping guide recommendations editorial, commercial visibility explicit and factual updates reviewable. The island needs clearer judgment, not another vague destination directory.

Editorial standards

1

Recommendations are not sold as rankings

A restaurant, beach stop, stay zone or workshop is not placed inside the guide because someone paid for a ranking. The bar is whether the suggestion helps the island read more clearly.

2

Partner visibility should be labeled and separate

If a sponsor or commercial partner appears, that placement should be visibly marked. It should not be confused with neutral editorial recommendation inside the core guide pages.

3

Food guidance needs more than hype

Sifnos has strong food identity, but that does not mean every fashionable stop deserves the same weight. We prefer consistency, local logic and fit with the island over generic buzz.

4

Stable public details are checked before publication

Official websites, names, addresses and durable practical details are treated as facts to verify. They deserve more certainty than seasonal mood, queue levels or changing service patterns.

5

Seasonal and local variability are handled with caution

Boat timing, crowd pressure, changing quality or shifting access can alter how a Sifnos day works. In those cases we prefer restrained wording over precise claims that age badly.

6

Pages can change when the evidence improves

If a recommendation weakens, if a stronger pattern appears, or if local conditions make the old wording less defensible, the page can be revised. The guide should remain credible, not static.
